Saraswathi deviya
Statue of the Hindu goddess Saraswati seated gracefully atop a fully bloomed, multi-layered lotus flower. The four-armed deity is depicted in a serene pose, with her primary hands delicately playing the veena, a traditional stringed instrument resting diagonally across her lap. Her upper right hand holds an akshamala (prayer beads), while her lower left hand gently grasps a pustaka (a book representing the Vedas or knowledge). She is adorned in an intricately draped saree with richly textured, patterned borders and wears elaborate jewelry, including multiple necklaces, armbands, and bangles. Crowning her head is an ornate, tiered headdress framed by a circular, halo-like backing, all contributing to the sculpture's magnificent, classical aesthetic with its deep, antiqued patina and meticulous craftsmanship.
